ONCE UPON A TIME..... there was this dude, VJ (short for Vijay Raghavendar). He was quite popular among his friends, sometimes for his long, gold streaked hair, or for his figure hugging t-shirts, or his obsession for FeLLow (fluorescent yellow) pants.
And then he was famous for his crushes. There was this huge line of gals he had crush on, every other week, week after week, one after the other or sometimes together..... Whether he stole lines from the Shakespeare or from the tacky Mills and Boons, I dont know, but when he flirted, you can make that out yourself; he was never a natural.
He follows a routine when he flirts (it must have worked for him). First he find out what the gal likes (for instance, sunset or rains or kids or pups). Then he calls them at twilight (oru romantic mood-ku)..... "I'm sittin in the terrace, watching the sunset, I thought abt u" or "I'm in a restaurant now n there r a couple of kids yelling their throats out, u might like that".... "so whats that u like about pups, I always find kittens endearing n cuddly, dont u think so?"... A few more conversations and he is openly hitting on the gal!!!!
His friends missed noticing this OTHER side of VJ. He flirted with every new gal he came across (abt sunset and rain dance), built false impressions (oh! lovely kids), lured them to believe what sort of a person he was (he cares a lot about puppies), and when the gal thinks she knows him well enough (oh! VJ is such an emotional, caring person), he destroys her gut feelings but contradicting her conclusions (I hate pups! I am not emotional. Kids are noisy and irritating. I m very rational. Chill babe, u have a lot to understand abt me!).
The shattered gal, agrees the misconception being her fault, watches him more closely, in a whole new perspective. Now our dude behaves all logical n sensible (pretense of course), n sidetracks the female to believe him matured n all tht. She puts her heart and soul in trying to understand him better. And just when she thinks all that he wants her to believe about him, he reverts back to old story.
During a conversation with a buddy, VJ's love life was discussed n his luring strategy was brought out. His friend was shrewd enough to understand what he was doing - "VJ, why do u always keep confusing the gal who actually understands the real "YOU" correctly"?. VJ shrugged his shoulders and said in matter-of-fact tone, "No matter how much I confuse a gal, the gal who truly loves me will overcome all these barriers that I put across and then truly understand the real me. And then I will know that she is the one for me."
So, thats the "Barrier Guy", VJ Raghavendar.
